A New Place For FPV Topics

Hi, I have a question regarding FPV.
I have just purchased a Vision plus and am currently using it with a smart phone iphone and an ipad. Both are connected correctly and work after a fashion but when in sunlight I cant see much, I have rigged up a sunshade but this is of little help.
My question is, can I attach a pair of FPV goggles to my set-up ? I notice that the ipad can have an HDMI adapter and wondered if this jack/point could be used as a video out port ?
I would like it if my spotter could view using the ipad to check recording info and angles and I could concentrate on the flying using the goggles. Any advice would be greatly received.
