9" Carbon Blades. Purchase from eBay or DSLRPros.com?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to upgrade my stock props. Read great reviews about the 9" Carbon Fiber blades.

I found them on DSLRPros.com for $52.99 plus shipping. However, a quick search on my favorite site, eBay, shows them for $19.98 with free shipping.

I know you "get what you pay for" but is there a difference between the two sellers or their product? Most everything is made in China anyways so I don't think DSLRPros are manufacturing them in the states themselves right?

Both sellers state the props come pre-balanced. Both state they have an 8mm mounting hole. Both state their 9" long.

If i can save over 50% by going to eBay, I'm gunna

I own what appear to be the ebay props. I have 12 of them I bought them from this seller.

They appear to be the same props.

They are not, in my opinion very good. First, the reaming job is shacky at best. Second, they are not balanced as advertised and lastly, I have been unable to balance them.

I have 12 of them, and can't get them balanced.

DSLR pros are a very good company, and you can believe them from my experience. When I lost my 1st phantom in a flyaway, I had props on order from DSLR pros, and had to cancel. He was kind enough to not only cancel, but he gave me a discount on a second Phantom if I ordered from him. He is a kind and decent man.

I use Graupner props, which are out of business now. The props work well, but I am betting the ones that DSLR Pros are selling are great too.

If you're just looking to try out some 9" props, I highly recommend the APC Slow-Flyer 9x4.7 blades. They're plastic and will set you back about $2 a blade and can probably be sourced at your local hobby / RC heli shop.

Thanks for the help. Sorry to hear you lost your first phantom. Forgive me, I am new to the hobby, but what is a "Flyaway." I would assume it's when the quad flys a way. Is this correct? Does this happen? Got me a little concerned. LOL

You convinced me on DSLRPros. I guess it's worth the extra $25 to just know what your getting.

A flyaway occurs when for no seeming fault of your own, the Phantom just decides it's going to fly off where ever it likes.

That happened to me, and I lost one in Lake Ontario, Canada.

It happened to me about 10 days ago again and is documented in this video.

Right now, I'm not sure that DJI has fixed it, or are even admitting it.

Been using the DSLRPros for sometime now, best props I've found. They also have recommended settings that really make a difference.
Yes they're expensive but I think they're worth it!

That's pretty off topic there champ !

When I fly 'anything' I have some Golden rules.
- Never fly close to buildings due to [apart from anything else] electrical interference in the 2.4ghz range which is in EVERY household these days.
- Never fly close to power/communication lines, electrical interference.
- Never fly drive close to/over busy roads.

Looks like you pretty much threw all my rules out hahaha

I've been happy with the results Iv'e gotten with my APC 8x3.8 slow flyers.
so much in fact that I've yet to install the graupnes that I had bought months ago

i had a bunch of scrapes while flying yesterday so I'll just swap out the damages props,. nice and cheap to replace.
and balance really well right out of the box.

if I were to get carbon fiber props, I'd probably try these out, the price is right.

tho do look nearly identical to the ones you see there on ebay which are a lot less. so maybe consider those.

DSLPros is a reputable company,. tho some of their items seem a bit overpriced for what the are, almost like they just price the items high and hope a few less-savvy buyers who don't do price comparisons will bite.
