Just curious to know what app, link, or any other method part 107 PIC’s use to comply with the 3 statute mile visibility.
And why it is not a requirement for hobbyists.

Hello, I like to use skyvector.com. If the ceiling is high enough I don't really worry about distance. Example: If the ceiling in 900ft, that is 500ft above the 400ft max. I shouldn't say I don't worry. I will take into consideration my location from flight paths airports and so on. Where I fly in South Dakota there isn't a whole lot of anything around so its not like flying next to a large city. Of course there are other things a PIC needs to take into consideration for a safe flight; terrain, humidity, etc. For work I have a Delair UX5 HP that I use for mapping. This fixed wing is considerably larger than the P4P I use otherwise, and is black. I can only see that maybe 3/4 of a mile away if im lucky. I would like to hear from others tho. I feel one of the biggest things a PIC needs to have is common sense.

Never thought of using skyvector.com for weather, good choice. I know most non-aviation weather apps never have the visibility listed. The 3 mile visibility is for see and avoid other aircraft. The furthest I’ve take my p4p was less than half a mile and if I look away I have to bring her in closer to gain vlos.

I agree, pretty hard to see at that distance. Would like to maybe add some strobes or even a bright skin to mine. Haven't really found any I like tho. I flew on our River here last week and with the snow in the bluffs I lost it really quick. Had to increase altitude and get it up in the blue.

I heard others say placing strobes helps them to see it further. My son suggested putting on some reflective tape although the tape will only work on sunny days.

Reflective tape is designed to reflect most of the light that strikes it back IN THE SAME DIRECTION it came from. So it may be useful at night to spot the drone with a strong light next to the pilot. It will not do much for visibility in daylight, whether sunny or not, unless the sun is directly behind you.
