I bought my drone for one purpose. The idea was that I could fly my drone from my house to where my boat is moored to check if things were all right. The distance is about 1500 feet, with an elevation drop of about 20 feet. My P3 SE has a range of 10,000 feet over open water, but the trees...
Once in a few years when the signs are just right and the river Daugava in Latvia can't handle spring's meltwater the floodplains of river Dviete fill up and turn into a paradise for birds and adventure seekers. Many use this rare opportunity to jump into their kayaks and paddle through forests...
Early in the morning after a heavy New England snowstorm, the trees still carry their loads of white powdery snow.

This abandoned roadway is just a few miles from where I live and I visit it every now and then looking for photo ops. It's a "safe" place to challenge my flying skills, where I won't bother anyone, and can easily retrieve the quad if I do make major contact with a grabby tree. I did have prop...
A brief tour of the mountains of NC/SC, including Dupont Forrest, where "The Hunger Games" was filmed. I'm still working on my color grading skills. The first half not so good, but gets a little better later!
Hi everyone,
Last weekend, I took the P3P out on a cloudy day in hopes that there wouldn't be many people at Fort Popham so I could capture some aerial footage. Here is what I was able to walk away with between rain showers. Hope you enjoy it!
Red Bud Isle, Austin, Texas
The island in the middle of the Colorado River was formed during a 1900 flood after a dam collapsed. It also looks like a jalapeño!
(I sped up parts of the video, but the crash scene is real-time)

Sad to report, but I had my first crash this morning. I planned a simple mission to a park and back, but things didn't go well. It was supposed to take 8 minutes to go there and back, but after...
If you are flying over a bunch of trees that you have not carefully screened one by one (like woods or a Forrest) what altitude won't you fly below?
I'm trying to see how much of an altitude wimp I am. I stay at 160 feet or above.
First trip out with my new Phantom 3, a friend of a friend invited us to his Christmas Tree farm before they opened this morning, was fun to fly and video came out OK, first time I'm using 1080p (my new years resolution), I've always stuck to 720p till now, as I figured youtube would mangle it...
Our company got a new P3 for inspections and surveys. I got familiar with it this weekend and flew a 1500' radius circle (give or take) around my house in our neighborhood. Wish I would've done it at noon. It was late in the day and there is sun glare while heading West during the first minute...
