Ahh, found the swipe down.... It's on the very tiny edge..... after that I was in and the reset allowed it to stay on "p4" so I could pair the two - eureka!

I am saying that. about a click or very very faint beep every second or 1.5 seconds, like an internal clock still clicking. I've seen this brought up on forums, so it ain't just me, when googled, but no answers....

DJI branded one showed up on eBay the other day - a mere 14 charge cycles for $109. I jumped on that quicker than a jack rabbit on a date.

Update: After many rounds of email w/ DJI and sending video of the remote control flashing off an on while connecting (often having to restart drone 3 times to connect)..... DJI finally saying send it in, after factory rest + updating again didn't hold as fix. Then borrowed a buddy's P4. Linked...
