As long as DJI is the best alternative we can't do much about it unless we DIY changes. I have not seen any new drone who could do what I can do with my DJI drone. Removing whatever annoys you is easy, just need a little google investigation.
Doesn't matter if you feel this is right or wrong, a manufacturer should not be involved in behavior control. The countries where this is sold need to do that, and most of them already do. That being said, DJI need competition and they need it fast.

I would imagine that a more rigid blade would be more silent when operated. However the weight need to be equal or lower than stock plastic blades. I would try to make one set in different materials and check the result. Maybe add vortex generators on the suction side :D

Jokes aside I use the foldable landing pad, I also hand catch if needed. Weight is everything so can't carry heavy equipment around.

I own the DJI Mavic for a reason, it's simply the best traveling drone out there money can buy. If someone else make a similar drone without GEO fencing I'd buy it in a hart beat.

100% agree with op, I own a certified airplane, and I can fly it wherever I want in theory. I as a pilot need to follow the rules or my certificate can be reworked. Cessna is not controlling where I can or cannot fly.
