John Stossel on Oreilly factor tonight talks about how the phantom vision only costs $500, and although loud, can go very high out of sight and sound, and spy on people from high above. He mentions briefly later that the camera costs 700 extra. If I was a regular schmuck, I'd be very bias of a...
Thanks. I've been too nervous to try flying around a building out of line of sight. Sometimes a roof is taller in areas than others. Have you ever been able to pull this off without losing control/connection? Any tricks? Is there a way to set the flying speed so that when you press the toggle...
Ok, so I think it can't be done, but I thought i'd give it a try. I can fly sideways and take video around a building but it's not smooth video. Can it be done during ground station? OR am I stuck taking video in a forward view of the flight during a waypoint?
Great, yeah I'm in Texas too, and they delivered it ther second time two day as well. I do use it for the business, but it is very time consuming and so far I've had 95% down time, not to mention hours of video editing work.
I purchased mine form B&H Photo. While their customer service is very good, it appears they have a bad batch of phantoms. Either that, or I've been pretty unlucky. The first unit kept losing connection less than 500 feet and crashed, so i returned it for a replacement, and now the second unit...
The FAA isn't all that powerful. Not here in Texas. I wouldn't have bought the Quad if I knew I was breaking the law, until I read stuff like the ones below. And I don't mind breaking stupid laws, just more afraid of Federal ones.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. After the crash, the gimbal was acting up, so I stopped using it for a while, and I was debating on whether this whole idea is more work and money than it's worth. But the drone was so much fun to use and I can see a definite use for the business, so I returned...
Kinda sensitive about it aren't you? Have I struck a chord? This is certainly not the correct forum in which to begin a debate into ones constitutional rights or people who have a low SES (socio-economic status). Just because people live in low income/high crime rate areas doesn't mean they're...
No problem. I live in Texas where people have the right to carry them. I don't carry one everywhere I go because there's no need to UNLESS I'm somewhere obviously risky such as the lonely place I was in the picture. There were some homeless people camping down the river and if something happens...
Haha, whatever Dude. You need to put that pipe down and wake up to the real world. Either that, or you're a young kid who hasn't experienced true life and hasn't been anywhere. I'm not angry. I just talk straight like a man. If you actually read my post without bias political agenda, you'd take...
Is that what you got out of my post? The one statement that I carried or carry a pistol to certain areas? Someone who uses their 2nd amendment constitutional right to protect himself and property in dangerous areas is an issue for you? Not everyone works or plays in safe family areas like you...
Don't you see the picture? I also do surveys in urban ghetto areas sometimes and carry electronic equipment, cameras and laptop in my truck. I'm an easy target, soo.
