I’ve replaced the original camera and gimbal with a 4K GoPro and fixed bracket. Can I do away with the 3 cables that attach to the original gimbal? And is it possible to update the software in the controller and drone via iPhone 7+ or is it laptop only ? Thank you in advance?

I’ve recently rebuilt a p2v+ but I’ve decided to go with a fixed mount and GoPro setup. My 1st question is do I require the cables that connect to the gimbal? 2nd question, do I/should I require an update to the controller and drone? I don’t think it’s been used for a while and I haven’t flown...
