I live in a very wooded area adjacent to a lake.......if I could safely launch from my pontoon boat, likely I would have sufficient sats to fly in GPS mode, which is often not the case from land.
Does anyone have first hand experiencing with this?
I would guess that the aluminum would have no...
I have a PV2+ and live in a very wooded area where picking up consistent GPS is difficult.........does the P3 with the addition of Glonass help that issue....that alone would be a reason to upgrade for me.
Assuming the P3 uses the same technology as the Inspire, what is the effectiveness of the system used outside with no GPS.........is it effective and at what altitude?
The Inspire specs appear to provide a 16 ft max altitude! (500cm)

I have a neighbor who has some property in Spartanburg SC that he would like an aerial video/photos taken.
It is too far for me to go, but if there is anyone in that area who would like to get involved, let me know and I will pass it on.
I appreciate everyone's concern, but ;
1. The video was not done to create a beautiful video ....it was to document a mission and since I used the medium speed on the mission, the guards were visible.....not so when I am flying for photo or video scenes.
2. I use guards, because it is prudent...
Set up a test mission to determine how well (or not) the new feature works.........
It went flawlessly.....impressive, but somewhat nerve racking watching your investment off on its own!
Super new feature!

Also switched to NAZA M mode and tried...
All of those mentioned will cost 1/2 of what the drone did... ;)
GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a free "open system" post processor and has lens correction.
I have found that -55 setting in "main" and +10 in the "edge" do a great job.
Good luck.
I have flown the copter aggressively for test purposes.......I have seen no instability issues....likely because when the copter is moving laterally it does so by leaning into the direction of travel, thus the top of the copter is "in the lead" minimizing the air resistance at the camera and...
3 different sizes of hole saws and a drill........stated in the post with the tracing.....
As far as the other post regarding their version for sale, if you go that way I would suggest the thinner material that fits snugly in the groove of the Phantom struts. When zip tied tightly the struts...
I did not want to remove the protector from the Phantom, so I traced and measured to get an accurate representation.
Someone asked if I would make them........I did this one by hand and I am not interested in mass producing them in that manner.......if I create a measured drawing for my CNC...
I took it up and flew it today .......
Did all sorts of maneuvers to see if the protection plate had any effect.........I saw no difference on lift or performance or maneuverability.
Landed in the grass and the plate worked great.
If anyone is interested, I can trace and post a file.......
