I decided to use the original cover with some double sided foam tape. I have plenty of the tape & even though some of the original sticky has fine dirt in it I should be OK.

I've never had DJI replace a drone but of the hundreds of posts I've read on the subject DJI treats its customers fairly. As with any mass merchant it's often cheaper to send you a like-new replacement no matter what shape yours was in.

I have a P3S with a red one facing towards the rear on the left leg and a green one on the right leg. When the drone is in the air you really can't see them but if the mount was angled down about 45 degrees it'd make a huge difference.
