    How hot is too hot?

If the battery temperature is less than 15ºC you get reduced performance (the DJI Go app says so). I would be careful with that.

    How hot is too hot?

Today I landed with the drone battery at 72ºC or 163ºF, and 3% charge. It was the closest I've been to dropping dead mid-air. The lowest voltage per cell I got during flight (according to the CSV log) was 3.37V. I got the "Overheated during discharge" red warning message on the DJI Go app but I...

    Antenna mod and downlink

Thanks Tony. To be clear, which website did you purchase the antenna from?

    Antenna mod and downlink

Thanks for the info. Why do people sometimes fly unboosted when they have a boosted kit? What are the pains of flying boosted?

What you do mean by the advice to not "overboost" when starting? And why?

    Battery too cold error

Thanks. According to the chart it seems to be a gradual drop. As long as it's guaranteed to always be gradual I should be able to monitor it through the cell voltage.

    Antenna mod and downlink

Kyle, that makes sense. The receiver is more sensitive to the drone's transmission. If someone else can comment on boosted antenna vs windsurfer, I'm still curious about how much better it is.

    Antenna mod and downlink

Hi Kyle. How does the downlink range fare with an antenna mod? The drone transmits down to the RC, but the antenna mods only mod the RC, so the drone remains stock.

    Antenna mod and downlink

I have a P3A and tend to fly in areas where I run out of signal, not battery. That's why I'm considering an RC mod when I buy a P4 soon.

    My Litchi cherry is popped

I've done about 12 out of range missions so far. It totally works. I was 2 meters away from crashing it into the municipal landfill (totally my mistake, didn't check what was underneath my waypoint).

    Antenna mod and downlink

I'm interesed in getting an antenna mod like the MAXX EvoLite Kit Plus or something, and I have a basic question I couldn't find answered: How does the downlink range fare with an antenna mod? The drone transmits down to the RC, but the antenna mods only mod the RC, so the drone remains stock...

    Battery too cold error

I got the warning when my battery was slightly under 15C (yes, C, not F). It's not in the firmware, it's in the Go App. I still have the 1.5 firmware. I still wonder what's the minimum temperature you can fly full speed ahead with a cold battery. I keep an eye on the voltage, particularly when...

    My Litchi cherry is popped

It can be a little unnevering to wait for 8 minutes to see the green light, but it's fun. Just double-check the heights of each waypoint. I was once close to sending it off to land in a lake with a waypoint that I unintentionally set too low, instead of flying over that.

    Discharging batteries before traveling

It is a pain to find a fireproof location where the noise and flashing lights of the drone won't inconvenience me for the 4-6 hours it'll take to discharge every battery, but from now on I will try to do it before travelling, out of precaution. I already put them inside LiPo bags, which are...

    Discharging batteries before traveling

According to DJI, you need to fully discharge the battery, not 50%. The DJI Intelligent Flight Battery Safety Guidelines say, "Before carrying the Intelligent Flight Battery on an airline flight, it must first be fully discharged. This can be done by using your aircraft until the battery is...
