Yes Skydio R1 only does one thing but WOW does it work. I have flown all the DJI drones since P2V and they have nothing like this at all. I literally could not make it fail. Skydio has Lead Mode working via predicting movement 4 seconds ahead. They are putting those 256 GPU cores to good use for...
I finally did the upgrade the other day and have done 2 flights since. Flying seemed fine. I was using Litchi and shot a couple of 1000' diameter orbits. When I looked at the footage, the last one was terrible - gimbal pointing all over after about 1/3 of the way. The first two were fine though...
I have Litchi and DJI Go 4 and have had other apps like DroneDeploy and Hivemapper all installed simultaneously on Android. I've used Nexus 9 this way as well as Samsung S5 and Nexus 5x. The tablet and the Samsung are best for flying.
I hate the look of GoPro aerial video. It works for close up action footage such as from the handlebars of your bike but for scenic views from the air like I usually take? No way. And Karma...epic epic fail. So much less than a drone.
As far as their Hero 5 action cams...they are WAY behind the...
For out mapping missions we fly both P4s and P3s but found that the P4 consistently had a longer life - landed with more battery left. In worse conditions (wind) the P4 did relatively better, so much that we had to tone down the missions so that the P3s could be guaranteed to complete.
And...
I thought the same until I tried it the other day. i flew the Mavic further and further away, starting at 1000'. My old eyes are not as good as they were but I could clearly see it at 3000'. I backed it up to 3300' and it was hard to see but still visible - pretty much my limit. With the...
Hivemapper is an innovative Silicon Valley drone software company that’s been around for a couple of years. We’ve just announced an amazing new way to interact with aerial videos called Flight View. Here’s a blog post about it. And you can check out some nice examples on the Flight View site...
We don't know about the Mavic in real life yet. With the P4, optical tracking is limited. With GPS tracking and the Go app, I think it was limited to 22mph. But with Litchi I had success tracking at over 30mph (they say max is 38 mph). But then you have to have the controller... None of this...
Yes ATTI mode is great for some shots. I also like to flip into it briefly to measure wind speed at altitude. Since we lose a dedicated switch on the TX I hope it is at least implemented in the app.
