Are there published pilot assault statistics?

I would have flown from the roadway if it was feasible. But this was a massive, mostly wooded, 460+ acre site in Virginia. My old PV+2 with wifi would never have handled any distance challenge. The work had to be onsite and in various locations. Was one of my first assignments.

Are there published pilot assault statistics?

I agree about the hard hat. But I often fly sites that require a hard hat, vest, safety glasses AND steel-toe boots. Not fun in 90 degree summer heat. The worst was a site in Virginia where I chose to wear a full Tyvek suit in 96 degree weather (boots duct tape sealed to my pants) because the...

Are there published pilot assault statistics?

As for me, especially when flying in public... Bright orange hi-viz vest, white hard hat, and orange safety cones cordoning off the nearby launch & landing area. No one, not even the police, have ever questioned me doing my job.

Flight Reader Giveaway 12/23/2023 (post and win!)

My favorite accessory on my P4P is my Marco Polo tracker, which I turn on every time I fly. I've never had to use it to find my downed P4P, but it is comforting to know I have that option should I need it.

    P4PV2.0

I've specifically tested to see if my RID module attached to the top of my P4P_v1 shell will interfere with GPS -- and it absolutely does. Significantly. I don't know why Singapore specifically wants it mounted on top of drones, but I suspect most pilots will ultimately choose to mounting it...

Advice for best setup for P4P + v2 for mapping and photogrammetry

Hi Graeme, I currently fly a P4P_v1 and use the free version of Map Pilot Pro (by Maps Made Easy) for my ortho mapping. My firm does environmental work and I've used Map Pilot Pro for mapping the extent of invasive lilies in a local algae choked lake. Their processing and stitching service is...

    Remote ID Module Location?

Yep, better location. And still ingenious.

    Remote ID Module Location?

That is an ingenious idea. But I see two issues. (1) I'd be a little nervous with the mount just press fit onto the landing runner from underneath and (2) I think it is going to interfere with the two downward facing sensors located toward the rear.

    Haven't been on much

I'm sorry to learn of your loss, Ted. Life is a gift that will eventually be taken away, but we don't know when that will be. So it's important to embrace the time we have here, even after your terrible loss, as I am sure your loving wife would now want you to do. Hang in there, bud.

Saving Satellite Imagery for off-line use

I always fly without cell service. I will open Google Earth while at home on WiFi and, as others have described, call up the area I will be flying and zoom in and out to cache as much detail as I feel I may need in the flight area. I will also open my flight software, usually Litchi, and do...
