    Should I Update Firmware?

Touche! With any electric device that I've sought to update firmware with, I've never taken it lightly. I usually apply the old adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I'm fully aware of the ramifications if it goes wrong. That's why I asked here if it was even needed or if I already had...

    Should I Update Firmware?

I recently acquired a used P3S that was stranded in the woods. I bought a controller and loaded the app on my smart device. Now it flies great. Should I update the firmware? The app says "Latest Firmware." Does that mean I am up to date? I read HERE about updating it, but it seems sparse...

    Controller Questions

Do you know what the 3 static positions do in flight? Nothing I've looked up, tells me. The switch's only mention is "toggling up & down" to activate/deactivate various functions.

    Controller Questions

I am curious about a couple functions on the P3S controller... What should the S2 switch be set at during flight? The User Manual specifically says how S1 controls flight modes for its three static positions. But the only mentions of S2 refer to "toggling up & down" to activate/deactivate...

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

But this person HERE said they tethered a tablet to their Samsung WIFI to get Maps. What's going on in their scenario? Is the Samsung's cellular data enabling the tablet to read Map location? Or is that result of the Samsung's GPS?

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

Ahhhhh! That's the key. I was suspicious it might have had its own, but the manual wasn't clear. It makes sense now. I was not aware. Thanks for that feedback!

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

I'm new to this, and I blindly read the Owner's manual. It talks about using GPS in P-mode, which is supposedly preferred. It also said Return To Home features needed GPS. So I assume GPS is needed, correct?

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

My Kindle does not have GPS. Can I simply set my iPhone as a HotSpot and tether the Kindle to it, for GPS?

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

Update, in case anyone else strolls here one day, in a similar situation... I was able to load the app on my old Kindle Fire HDX 7, OS 4.5.5.3. I first went HERE to learn about sideloading an app, and installing the ES File Explorer app on my Kindle. Then I followed instructions HERE and...

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

How does that explain other folks using the 5c successfully? Is that because they have an older version of the app? Is it possible that my Kindle Fire HDX 7 might work?

DJI Go App Incompatible With iPhone 5c?

Folks, I recently acquired a P3S. My smart device is an iPhone 5C, with iOS software version 10.3.3. People HERE and HERE claim they've successfully used their iPhone 5C to fly their P3S. The P3S's quick start guide HERE claims it supports iOS 8.0 and later. Last night, I tried to download...

    Controller Battery Maintenance

Folks, Newb here, so I don't know much about drones. I read HERE about aircraft battery maintenance. How about the controller battery though? What's the recommendation for controller battery upkeep while in storage? Thanks in advance!

Can Phantom 3 Std Be Calibrated Without Controller?

Yay! Update: it's fixed!!!!:D:D See the attached short video. It powers up and calibrates correctly. After closer inspection, I found the ribbon cable was detached at the camera. It was kind of in place, giving the illusion of being attached, but it wasn't. Near the end of the attached...

Can Phantom 3 Std Be Calibrated Without Controller?

I checked the roll potentiometer per this video HERE. Mine was in specs with his, so that's apparently not the issue. I suppose I'm going to have to send this off to a local repair shop.

Can Phantom 3 Std Be Calibrated Without Controller?

Yes, thank you, that's my plan. I'm in the market for one, but was hoping to get assurance the aircraft itself was salvageable before dumping too much $$ into it.
