Length of screws - lesson learnt

I have just learnt an expensive mistake - P3adv. I fitted a set of alloy motor mount protectors but found that the original screws were now too short. So I used a 'guesstimate' and purchased longer ones. Result; they screwed too far in and into the motors. An "ESC status error" was displayed...

ESC error, are there any solutions apart from return to DJI?

Thanks Brockrock, will try. Thanks With the Birds, yes................... I had installed prop-guards before the last flight. I now wonder if it was the longer screws? I have since removed the guards and replaced the original screws. No change though, I am still getting the ESC status warning...

Sorry Neon Euc, I forgot to mention, I did delete each version before installing the next. Thanks again. Pete

ESC error, are there any solutions apart from return to DJI?

Thank you alokbhargava, Motors don't run at all. All is well in the pre-flight mode but as soon as I try to start, it comes up with the message; "ESC status error. Restart aircraft. Contact DJI support if this persists after restart". The aircraft has never crashed, has been well looked...

ESC error, are there any solutions apart from return to DJI?

I have an ESC error that has just popped up and I can't fly. The craft has had a comfortable life, no damage or hard landings etc, is only 10 months old and I have upgraded the firmware. The only solution seems to be to return it to DJI for repair. Before I do I was wondering if anyone has any...

Has anyone panel lined their drone yet?

Hi Reed L. I note that you have 'cup-covers' on each motor. Is this to offer protection from damage, dust and thread damage? Are these commercially available or have you adapted them yourself? Thanks, Pete.

Batteries - just how dangerous are they?

I note, looking through threads and watching instructional videos, that there is a great emphasis on battery safety, particularly the chance of ignition and risk of fire danger. I normally store my batteries in the drone carry case which provides no fire-safety at all. Do others do the same or...

Customs restrictions at airports around the world? What is the risk factor?

Thank you Meta4. I hope that you are correct and the world really is as perfect as we would like. 2 questions: 1/ Is there a list available to the flying public of universal customs/flight allowances for all countries available? 2/ If carrying a drone onto a commercial aircraft does it go...

Customs restrictions at airports around the world? What is the risk factor?

The thought of travelling with my drone Internationally and being able to take aerial video/photo footage of my travels seems exciting, but I wonder about the risk of having the drone taken off me at airport security/customs around the world. Do some countries have restrictions or is this...

Easy way to remove filters off the Phantom camera lens.

(I posted this in another thread, and decided that maybe it should be flown for all to see) I have found an easy way to unscrew filters off the camera lens. Using the prop-tightening spanner, I 'wrap' the circular part of the spanner around the filter then gently but firmly give it a slight...

Polarising and ND filters, screw-on or push-on? What is recommended?

Thanks guys for your replies. I value your feedback. I have found an easy way to unscrew filters off the camera lens. Using the prop-tightening spanner, I 'wrap' the circular part of the spanner around the filter then gently but firmly give it a slight turn until it loosens. DO NOT, twist...

Is there an operators manual for the P3A ?

Thanks guys for your input. I've downloaded/printed a copy of the users manual so I am now happily browsing through and learning. This is a great forum. Pete.

Is there an operators manual for the P3A ?

I was wondering if a more detailed operators manual was available for the Phantom 3 Adv ? I have a couple of basic "leaflet" type instruction pamphlets but would like a more in-depth instruction book. Is there such a beast available and where can I hunt it down? Pete.
