Use ND filters when there's too much light to get correct exposure at approximately 1/fps shutter speed. For example, shooting at 24fps, try to keep shutter at 1/50th, at 30fps, shutter around 1/60th. This is a rule of thumb, and there's some wiggle room and also there are reasons to break away...

I must be missing something, so I'm hoping someone can help me understand this. The P4 prop guards from DJI defeat the forward vision system, forcing off the obstacle avoidance system. I can always turn off obstacle avoidance myself (I don't use it much at all), but what might be the rationale...

Ah yes, of course, thanks: this is video. (hence frame rate factor). Shutter speed for stills is another matter altogether. Sometimes you want to freeze motion, sometimes you want to let it blur some for motion effect. If it's blur you want (slower shutter), and it's bright light, then ND is...

To get proper exposure in bright light, favor ND filters over cranking the shutter speed up. If possible, unless you're going for some special effect, keep the shutter pinned at or near 2x frame rate. Your viewers will thank you.

Ah, ok - not precisely a "speaker" (not sure) but it can generate audible tones loud enough to solve the problem of a lost bird in a jungle canopy. For this purpose, that's what's relevant. Just gimme a button on the app to start an audible beacon tone.

Yeah, we do have some small solar but only enough for critical gear like sat phones and GPS. It's a big island with no human activity for thousands of years and no infrastructure of any kind. We are hiking and hacking through with everything needed by the expidition - water, food, camera gear...
