I sold my P4 Std 18 months ago and really miss it.
I've just bought a Mavic Air 2 but have the opportunity to buy a near-new P4 Std...should I splash out? The $$ isn't the issue, but am I potentially buying an outdated dog that I'll regret once the nostalgia wears out?
Thoughts?
My camera unit was replaced due to a lens focus issue. I watched the tech do it - the only thing he did after the hardware was replaced was a firmware update. I don't believe it was a drone update, it seemed to be to bring the camera unit up to date.
Sorry. I can't help you with other manufacturers at this stage as my research is in its initial stages.
I'd advise you to start reading the Phantom 4 forum over at DJI.com - good research and information if you're in the market for a drone.
Right now, based on the contempt DJI is showing to the Phantom 4 community, I'd recommend you look at devices from other manufacturers.
I won't be buying DJI again. Not unless something miraculous happens from DJI.
I noticed this too...as I was doing some other testing around the 4K camera reset issue at the time I thought, why not, let's hook up the drone as instructed and see what happens.
What happended - nothing. All my data was obviously pleasing to the app and the message went away without any other...

Silly question time - today I noticed that my Phantom 4 Standard's gimbal moves easily from left to right when the drone is turned off.
This seemed odd - I could have sworn there was always some resistance to left and right movement - in fact I thought it held itself quite sturdy on...
New firmware is working very well for me. NVidia Shield K1 no longer crashes DJI Go at all, even during 20 minute + of flying.
The camera still craps out at 4K 30fps, but at least the flight performance is great. Tripod mode is great too!
