I think a lot depends on your home “base” locale. Those within neighborhoods shouldn’t feel they have to load up, drive miles, and setup pre-plan for one or two simple flights. Others live in more open/isolated areas and are able to fly more autonomously from home.

Now that I think about it, I flew at my relative’s place twice last year. It too, had a cell tower adjacent to his property. I didn’t have any problems. Then again, do such towers ever “pulse” (for lack of a better term), and thus have varied output strength?

That’s just too cool, and you are very much the Man! On my P3A, I have the FAA number stickered on, a “If found, please call XXX-XXX-XXXX” decal, and also a .txt file in the micro-card labeled “IF FOUND, check this file.” FAA # is also embossed on a Marco Polo saddle bag transmitter holder.

I’ve got the “late winter fever” to get my P3A in the air after some months of being idle. It’s a cloudy overcast day here in the Midwest flatlands. Is there an easy way to determine the height of the lower cloud base, as well as the upper? Thanks!
