No problems with the question, you just noticed one of the differences between the standard/4k and the advanced/pro models. Standard/4k use the wifi on the phone/tablet for telemetry and video feed, the advanced/pro use the Lightbridge stuff DJI created in place of wifi.

wifi? That's normal. The advance and pro models do not use wifi like what a phone or laptop uses.

It can be done, but it's a bit of a pain. This video is what I used to pull my archive of the older versions for my ipad

P3 Advanced and Pro's don't use the wifi on the phone at all, so it highly doubtful that switching to an iOS device is going to make any difference. Does the controller light stay red when there isn't any phone or tablet plugged in? That would quickly eliminate the device being the issue...

If the + is still around, it sounds like something didn't downgrade. Hopefully you didn't run into a failure with the earlier hardware revisions that some have. 2.4.2 should work fine with 1.7.x firmware, it's what I'm using and the + sign only shows up with the batteries that were not in the...

No, 1.11.20 is the latest for the P3 Pro, the OP asked about the standard, which is 1.09.0200 :)

Firmware updates to the aircraft and controller are 100% manual things,so there is no worry about that. Every time I see my app say that I 'must' update the firmware, I always reply to it with "no I don't" :)

If you don't touch the firmware on the AC or RC, you don't have to update anything. If it's not broke... :)

Yeppers, this was one of the things that caused me to start swearing about five minutes after I got my iPad and wishing for the open nature of Android. :p But once I got it down, it was pretty easy to pull a full archive, just took some time and drive space.
