Photo import

Hi All
I am very new to this and as my name says I am 62 so technology comes slowly
I am using a I Pad pro with the Sim card slot
I can take pictures and shoot vider on my P4 Pro. Thats good
The footage and pics get saved in the app
I can see them in both Video and Photos in the Album area

When I try to import from sd card it says not connected
I have tried connecting the micro usb's on drone to controller and also direct to the i pad
All says not connected
If I try to download original video it says not connected

I have re formatted the SD card ans am using the original factory one

What am I doing wrong?
This is the first of a few questions but 1 at a time

Best is to take out SD card and plug it into your mac or laptop with adapter. You will then see all pictures.

I have just tried that and get
An Error prevented the file from opening

I'll try another computer and see what happens

Just tried another better laptop & that works
If I edit on the app I'll work out how to save that
