Photo from Pt. Dume (Tony Stark/Iron Man Mansion)

Here are three photos I stitched together from a flight this week at Pt. Dume in Malibu, CA. This is the location that was used as Tony Stark's mansion in the Iron Man movies. I run a Phantom with a 2 axis gimbal and a GoPro Hero3 Black. I was flying about 200 yards over the ocean at an estimated altitude of 200ft (that estimate may be way off). I've been trying to get this shot for a week but the winds are pretty constant at the point. They were about 5kts when I shot this.

Yesterday I "lost" the Phantom over the water. No clouds and a bright early morning sun made it "disappear" into the sky as it was climbing.

I was pretty worried but turned my transmitter off. This was my first time trying the "return home safe" function and it worked like a charm. I didn't see the Phantom until it was a few hundred feet directly overhead. Those were a long few minutes.

Here is a photo snapped from the peak of the Phantom being "lost".

Great shot! Just imagine what it would have taken to get a similar shot just a few years ago.
(**** I shoulda gone to the beach yesterday).
