My i-pad mini 2 broke, when flying with my cheap lg phone will it also effect the range i get like it does with the video

The phone or tablet you use just shows the live view.
It should have no effect on the signal strength between the controller and the Phantom.
But it might not have enough processing speed to run the app properly.
