My third flight with this copter and I lost signal at about 2000 ft. Wide open country any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure your antennas are straight up and parallel. Look at the radar and make sure your antennas are facing the P4.
With the information given, that is all the advice I can give you.

I’ll try it again tomorrow and make sure my antennas are right. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks.

Things to check -- battery power on drone and controller, antennas point as in the manual, local RF (military base nearby, or other strong RF generators?)

This is very helpful. I did not know about rf generators. Our property is only about 2 miles from a military airfield and I was headed that way at 120 feet.
