I have an oportunity to grab a P3 Pro WITHOUT gimbal and camera, comes with RC ,2 batteries, case, spare props, chargers. If I can get it for under $200 would it pay to find a gimbal/camera setup for it,.. and what would be the challenges to install said camera/gimbal. I currently have a P3 Standard. Thank you

Installing gimbal to Ph3 Pro/Adv is easy. Easier than Ph3 Std, as you only need to connect 2 ribbon cables.
Then just update firmware to make it consistent in whole drone, and that's it.

But - Ph3s without cameras often come with some of the connectors ripped out of boards. Be careful.
Also, camera is the most expensive part nowadays - it is the part which gets damaged most often.
Make sure you can find it in affordable price. You can use either Pro or Adv camera, they're interchangeable.

Yes im also finding that a decent gimbal/camera setup is going for $300 plus,.. So, 200 +300 is NOT that great a deal for a used pro that needs work and assembly with no guarantees.

Now you know why guy is selling ...

Its a great buy if you want spare parts for an existing P3P ... but to buy to rebuild ? Too many ifs for my liking.

If all works - why didn't seller fit a gimbal / camera ?

How did the P3 come to be without gimbal / camera ? Crash ?

Depending on where you are ... you can get a refurb for not much more money ... and that will be a full working machine out of box.

Exactly my current thoughts...thank you.

I bought a P3P with spare battery, full hard case as well ... in mint condition ... 600 Euros. That was about a year ago ... and you have to understand that here in Latvia prices are high across the board. 600 Euros here is a large saving against new WITHOUT the case and spare battery.

In USA ... I believe you can get refurb similar price but $ ... if you go 2nd Hand ... for that money you should get spare battery and case ... I reckon.

Yes,... A refurbished P3P here in US is $550-600US,.. most come with 30 day warranty,... there is a DJI store on ebay that currently has a BRAND NEW P3P for $669 with 1 year warranty,... and for $79 more you can get a 2 year replacement guarantee. Not bad considering that what a P3S sold for new a couple yrs ago.

No brainer really ...

Why risk a dud to try and save a few $ ??

Too many examples of people trying DIY repairs and STILL not getting a working machine.

No need to go through the heartache of maybe fixing someone else's crash !

Having tried to fix a P3S before ... I found out the hard way that too many items on these are inter-related in operation and it becomes a fault chasing road ... what you think is a simple fualt often leads further along that path to another.

I came to conclusion that if I had a fault - I send to DJI, swallow pride and the costs ... but I get back a working machine.

These things are complicated to say the least. I acquired my P3P for $599 with full one-year warranty from DJI.
I did the exact same thing. Was $599 US with a full one year warranty. Shipped free (and duty free which surprised me) to Canada. Arrived in 3 days.
