Lens Corrector for GoPro

Hi.

I just downloaded this App for my ipad. Work a treat for straightening out them curves on some photos taken with my Phantom 2 vision.

Not bad at all for less than a couple of dollars,

I don't get the need for fisheye correctors. They all seem to work by straightening out the curvature/bulge in the photo or video.
As a result, the left and right borders of the original are cut out, and you lose some of the panoramic effect.
So, at least for the phantom vision camera, why not just use the lower pano setting to start with.
I'm not real familiar with the go pro, but does it not have this feature as well ?
