Lag with head movement in VR Litchi on P3P?

Hey all - I'm running a cheap VR headset with my Droid Turbo in it to fly my P3P. *Nothing* about the experience is laggy in any way with the singular exception of when I toggle "immersive VR" in Litchi, which allows the movement of the headset/phone to control the gimbal pitch as well as the aircraft yaw. Seemed like a fantastic idea but there's a good second of lag when I move my head until the aircraft yaws. Given how flawless everything else is working, there's got to be something amiss here - anybody have any experience with this?

Immersed is Coo L, have you tried different device to compare

Unfortunately all I've got is my phone and an iPad mini 2 - so the phone really is the only option. Which is too bad! Thought hardware decoding may have something to do with it but can't find that option in Litchi on my phone...
