Good read but clearly biased towards the V-22. Although it does mention a crash it says in the intro to the craft:

The V-22, commonly called the "Osprey", is controversial because it is new, it is different, and it is a true innovation.

It's controversial because it's killed over 30 marines in crashes.

I'm calling BS on this tidbit:

The aircraft can fly with any degree of nacelle tilt in both single and multi engine modes.

I'm curious how it would maintain stability with one engine completely vertical. How would the craft counter torque in the one engine in this mode?

I see now. One engine can power both rotors. That makes sense.
