Can someone help me with a phantom 4 ?

I just bought one very lightly used. Even though it's 10 years old it has only been uses a few times. But when I got it home and starting charging the two batteries, the lights won't even come on on the battery packs at all. Does anyone have a working charger i can check them out on before I look for replacement batteries or charger ? Just seems strange that both batteries would be having the same issues. Thanks for any help

I asked the moderators to move this post to its own thread. There it will get more attention.

You added it to a thread that is over 10 years old.....and a different subject matter. By the way.......Welcome to the Forum.

It's not the charger. Lithium batteries have to be regularly maintained or they fail. Use em or lose em. After charging these smart batteries will in a few days self discharge to about half charge for storage but it doesn't last forever. I charge mine at least 3x a year whether used or not. Yours most likely cannot be saved. Nowadays the batteries themselves hold as much or more value than the drone when buying a used Phantom. Thankfully the batteries are still available but mostly 3rd party, look for good reviews.

Coincidentally, I just discovered minutes ago that one of my Mavic Pro batteries is also dead. It's my understanding that the battery's electronics require SOME small amount of voltage to be present at all times to maintain the battery's memory (or whatever). If the battery goes completely flat, the built in electronics won't "recognize" a charger. And, ergo, the battery won't charge. The theoretical cure is to force voltage into into the flat battery by connecting it directly to a charged battery. In theory, this "forces" voltage into the flat battery. I haven't tried this yet because I'm at my girlfriend's house and all of my adapters and cables are at my house. Rest assured, I plan on trying this within the next couple days.

I honestly don't see why this would work, because the charged battery is just another voltage source like a charger would be. But according to the Internet (which is never wrong...LOL...), this works for other smart batteries, like tool batteries. So, I guess we'll see.

Welcome mate to the forum. Check this treads here named : DJI no longer sells replacement batteries for the Phantom 4

You can see update information about the batteries. And places that you can find original DJI batteries and also generic. Because your batteries maybe has some broken o damage cells. Regards
