Shares of GoPro were surging Monday after Zack's Investment Research and other outlets claimed the newest edition of the company's GoPro Hero line will launch alongside a first drone product called Karma.
Reports also cited a recent interview with CEO Nick Woodman in which he said GoPro
will debut three new devices before the end of the year.
Separately, the company said last Thursday it appointed Lauren Zalaznick, a former executive at Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal, to its board of directors. Zalaznick could help the action camera-maker in its efforts to branch into the video and entertainment business, Fortune said.
GPRO shares may also have benefited on Monday from Nintendo's roll-out of its new, augmented reality Pokemon Go smartphone game, which became the most popular app on Apple's App Store. The game allows players to scour for Pikachu and other Pokemon characters through real-life settings such as parks, buildings, and subway stops.
Price: 12.37, Change: +1.40, Percent Change: +12.76
