Last weekend I flew over a small island on the Portugal coast called Ilha do Pessegueiro. It was the first time I flew over 1000 meters into the sea and came home in one piece.

Do you know any history on that island - like the abandoned building/castle or whatever it is - when was it built, do you know?
Good idea to stay nice and high there and away from all the gulls flying around. Great job!

Those two forts were built in the XVII century to defend that particular area from the corsairs. The original idea was to create an harbour to link the two buildings. The construction was never finished, but it is still visible today the large rocks cut in the island and near the fort on the coast.
