Yes remote shall be update with dji go app

Experiance i shared was actually there was lot of trees and altitude mistake when set mission it was going directly into trees. By switching it void all mission and make the phantom hover and it saved it from crash :)

Recomended to update the phantom first then the remote its recomended too .. to copy the update file to the sd card through a micro sd adapter :)

Maybe they secretly put limitation on distance same as the did with altitude !!! I have no idea but very strange that many people complaining for same issue after firmware update!! signal lost or low signal

I don't think that IMU Callibration have something to do with that as. its only calibration for orientation etc etc . are you on firmware 1.10.90 if yes try the IMU then re do compass calibration in open space using dji go app and thanks to let us know if it work

Even if IMU check days calibration not needed ... try it and see. Also dont forget to remove all app and install again .. + update firmware

I have experiance almost same thing. next time if you want to stop in the middle of a mission just switch from F mode to P mode .. all mission will be void and the drone will hover. then you can bring it back manually
