I've had my P4 a couple of weeks. Oh well... it's still a great piece of kit, and it cost $500 less. First world problem. :D
I wonder if that new 1" Pro camera will be compatible with the "old" P4? It may be an available upgrade for those inclined.
I crashed my P3A last week and decided to go ahead and get the P4. (My P3A will eventually be resurrected, but I'm the impatient type.
If the Mavic Pro was available now, I might have gone for it instead. But the P4 is still an incredible piece of gear and it fits in my old P3 case quite nicely. :)
I buy a LOT of open box stuff - in fact, I bought my iPad 4 as an open box! (Saved around $150 on it back when they were $500 new.)
Still, you can't always find the right open box at the right time. And for $150 new, it's tough to beat the Nexus 7. Most of the time I just leave it in my P3...
I own a couple of Apple products, an aging iPad 4 (sadly incompatible with the app) and an iPhone 6+. Yet I got a Google Nexus 7 (http://amzn.to/1E8tCCt) specifically for use with my P3.
Overall the Nexus has worked well with the Phantom. The screen is a nice size, and the Nexus cost less than...
I love your innovative solution. Not only is it cost effective, it gives me a good reason to buy some beer. My windsail reflector will be of the pale ale variety, though. :D
Another vote for Plastidip (http://amzn.to/1gPdtaA).
I "plastidipped" my first P1 Phantom black and it turned out nice.
The great thing about Plastidip is that it's removable. Should you ever decide to make a change, you can just peel it off.
I bought a Nexus 7 ii (http://amzn.to/1MgIUV0) specifically for use with the P3. For $149 it's tough to beat... Half the price of an iPad Mini or nVidia Shield... Comes with a clean install of Android Lollipop, packs plenty of power, and the 7-inch size balances pretty well on the P3 controller...
Nexus 7 2013. http://amzn.to/1NbXAFH
It's a lot cheaper than an iPad mini 2/3 with GPS. I think the iPad is a nicer tablet overall, but the Nexus 7 2013 works great with the P3.
I bought a Nexus 7 2013 just for the P3 and it is working great. http://amzn.to/1QBW19A
Note that if you go for an iPad, you will want the cellular (not just wifi) version. Personally, I think a full size iPad would be a little large atop the P3 controller. The smaller tablets are a good fit IMHO.
Tonight I tried disabling & reenabling the Android Download Manager as advised here: https://www.androidpit.com/process-com-google-process-gapps-has-stopped-fix
Afterwards I took the P3 out for a roughly 12-minute flight and did NOT get the error. But I'm not saying it's fixed just yet. I will...
This happens on my Nexus 2013 on just about EVERY flight. Running latest firmware, app, and Android Lollipop. It usually happens about 10 minutes into the flight. It only happens once per flight.
The first time it happened it caused a brief panic, as the P3 was quite far away. But the app has...
