    Drone Insurance

I fly commercially and my bird's range from P4P to the m600. I use Skywatch and I have been very pleased with them. I did email my State farm agent yesterday and as someone else has already said, they do not write commercial policies and I do not think that will change anytime soon. so I will...

    Drone Insurance

If you had an incident and it was during commercial use, that would be very obvious very quickly which means you would be hung out to dry. In this business it is best to keep everything legit and by the book. The more I understand the regulations, the harder that it is to stay within the...

My P4P batteries are getting really hot in flight (140-155° F)

All of my batteries are getting very hot. One got to 155F today. 1-2 weeks ago I had one swell that I had to take out of commission. Is there something in the P4P that could be causing this? This is only recently that this seemed to start happening. Running latest firmware. Here is one...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

Flydawg, this is using Pix4D or DroneDeploy, and I think Map Pilot. For mapping missions, you can not use Litchi. I use and love Litchi but I have not tested this. I would create a mission that follow a straight road about .75 miles then turn around and come back. I could have 4 legs up and...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

You can free fly the P4P all day long with no issues. This only occurs with autonomous missions.

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

No I did not. As a matter of fact, I purchased another new P4P body and the same thing happened. So I have 3 P4P's that all do this. I would imagine that this is happening to many people and they simply do not realize it. It becomes very evident then you fly a perfectly straight line over a...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

That dang data will get you every time :p It is frustrating to say the least but hopefully my next test (hopefully Sunday afternoon) with some video might help pinpoint what could be happening. Ya'll have a super duper weekend!

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

But that is just it. I did NOT adjust it 15° off center. I adjusted it to align perfectly with end of the road and the drone flew off center. I don't know how else to put that. My gimbal/camera is not off center. I can look at it and see that it points straight ahead. If the gimbal is not...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

Here is the link of where I uploaded the Litchi CSV file: However, I do not see any details regarding the Gimbal pitch/angle DJI Flight Log Viewer - PhantomHelp.com EDIT: I used DatCon to convert FLY406.DAT to CSV. I have uploaded the CSV fiel to the above link. I'll be honest, I am not...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

FlyDawg, here is the link to the two log files that I downloaded from AirData. 02-20-2019: Flown with DjiGo4 iOs. I flew the same path (south end of street to north end) and the same exact event occurred (veering to the east by 75+ feet) I also flew around alot more and observed the UAS...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

Flydawg the only thing I did was get the AC in perfect alignment to the end of the street. When I first flew it down to the south end of the street, I did not touch it. Just flew it there and let it hover for 120 seconds (I pretty sure that is correct). I then turned the AC around to face...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

@BudWalker the only change I made was putting on the new "low noise" props. however, I am 99.9% sure that I put those on before I did any flights that I uploaded logs for. I do not know anything about reading logs and I am learning alot about how the P4P functions through this thread. Just...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

Is it possible that a faulty compass could cause this behavior? I realize now that the GPS would have nothing to do with this but it would almost seem logical that a faulty compass could.

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

Maybe I am not using the right terminology. I edited your image. I used Litchi to fly from south end of the street to the north end. My gimbal is in perfect alignment. On the south end of the street I was dead center. Using Litchi, I had the gimbal cross hairs dead center of the north end...

Can a faulty GPS module cause the drifting problem on Phantom 4 Pro? Drone is drifting east /or turning West in Autonomous missions

Hey Bud, I flew the one leg flight as instructed. After reaching sound end of road, I did not touch the sticks. Then before I flew it north, I raise camera and had center dead center of north end of road. After centered, I flew forward not moving any stick motion except forward. It drifted...
