I'm definitely going to check to see if my receiver is on the diversity input. Fingers crossed that it's NOT on diversity and that it will end up being the issue..
No, I never powered on the vtx without an antenna connected.

I've done all those things, but I've also bad about the same reception out on some open farm land. The reception is fine for normal filming and recording, but I don't see how I'll be able to squeeze out anything over 700 to possibly 800m's.
I was using Ch 6 on the transmitter (C-6 on the LCD5802), Tony at FPVLR had told me he preferred using the 5900+ channels. I'll switch to Ch 1 and see if it makes a difference. The weather doesn't look that great today, so I may not be able to fly this afternoon.

My FPV feed gets pretty sketchy and pretty unusable around 400-500m range..any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? I had the TS352 on Ch 6 and the LCD5802 is on C 6.
