    Help with fc40 and GoPro

Am I right in thinking you have no other connection between camera and AC? No fpv transmitter etc. If that's correct then something on the SJ4000 OR something with the on board GPS is at fault. Yes you would need to remove the top to check on the shield and there is NO reason for it to be...

    Help with fc40 and GoPro

This sounds odd. The first post says that when the camera is on, it interferes with "sats" which I take to mean GPS. so we aren't talking about shared frequencies between camera and controller. So 2.4 or 5.8 is irrelevant right? I would make sure that the GPS shield is in place as the AC was...

P1 From Start - To Start!

An update. I have installed a 25Mw Vtx with direct connection to my SJ4000. Because I am doing this on a tight budget I originally bought an Easycap video capture device which, when connected to my Android phone should have sent the feed from my Vrx straight to the phone. However, my phone...

    POLL: Who flies beyond VLOS?

I guess in the USA you have bigger areas of wilderness compared to the UK so if you're asking "safe for other people, vehicles, animals etc" then I would say wilderness. Right conditions in my mind would mean a practically dead calm day with no wind to affect flight duration. Safety of your...

    POLL: Who flies beyond VLOS?

Without opening a whole new can of worms, how do you describe or quantify "safe" when BVLOS. It is surely relying totally on the technology within your aircraft to accomplish such flights. I refer to my earlier post in this thread.

Hi I'm new live in Leicester

Hi and welcome! Don't worry about certain other pilots who can't be friendly and civil, the vast majority here are very helpful and knowledgeable. Can't help with your request about Cornwall but enjoy yourself anyway

    Phantom 2 issues & crash

Yes I agree. If you can afford a P3 it would probably give you more confidence but let us know if the shop comes back with any definitive answer cos it might help others.

    Phantom 2 issues & crash

Sorry, just read that your second flight was without guards! Check all the motors spin nice n free by hand (disconnect battery or remove props!). After the crashes were all four motors still powered on?

    Phantom 2 issues & crash

Looking at readouts for each cell the first pack which I assume isn't charged, looks OK but the second pack certainly looks to have seen better days. There are a number of threads on here about P2 batteries so check them out. It might be worth getting a new one though. Just out of interest, the...

    Phantom 2 issues & crash

Yes that screenshot would help. If there's a bad cell it could be giving you wrong readings. So are you on 2.4Ghz with a single or twin aerial Rx? Sounds like you have an issue in either Rx or Tx so I would check aerial wires, joints etc

    Phantom 2 issues & crash

I would recommend checking the battery. Is it holding a FULL charge? Also what radio gear are you using? It shouldn't affect the AC at the distance you are talking about but exactly how short is the range you have?

People who have bought second hand or refurbished - how many have had issues?

Good to hear you've bitten the bullet and bought one. Now wait for the bug to bite! Happy flying

    POLL: Who flies beyond VLOS?

Well plenty of vigorous debate on this topic. It shows two diametrically opposed points of view that will never converge or agree. One relying on (in my opinion) common sense and an understanding of the rules relating to FPV and having a spotter with you - the other backing the use of modern...
