why does the commercial license have more restrictions then the hobby license? wouldn't it be the other way around? It's like professionals have less abilities.
to expound on that i read this that i wonder if it would accomodate advertising blimps. "Flights conducted for operational purposes of any event, stadium or venue and broadcast coverage for the broadcast rights holder are authorized with an approved airspace waiver." from Permanent TFRs issued...
what about blimps? maybe that's why because at big events sometimes blimps are flown for advertisement though i don't get to see any because i dont' live in a big city but remember seeing them when i was a kid in Smyrna TN. i remember the Goodyear Blimp and watching it from the school bus all...
3 miles radius just for a sports stadium? why so far back? it's not like we're going to see much from a block away with a wide angle lens if copyrights is what they're worried about. I could understand a 1/4 a mile from the stadium.
on here U.S. Air Space Map | Know Before You Fly
there is a grey circle TFR in the area over the Chiefs stadium but it is several miles wide. if it's because of a game why does it go out so far? I think it's awful to take away so much area from people to fly if it's only because of a game. i...
I totally agree about this post and the last one. sometimes interacting with other members is better then reading old news. Far too often people get scolded for replying to a old thread especially years old.
That's for sure. if someone is offsite flying over they may not know where the pilot is but if people can fly from their land it would be easier for them to keep an eye on the pilot if something is going wrong. it would be better to have contact with the pilot then not.
you can still fly over the land? doesn't that defeat the purpose of the no fly zone? in the newspaper article Tallgrass didn't want drones because of privacy issues and because they don't want drones to start a stampede with the bison and cause them to hurt someone.
wow. I wonder what kind of injuries they got from jumping? that couldn't have been fun. fast speed plus hard ballast (rocks on the tracks). what about the conductors?
that's nuts!!! It's terrible. not as bad as a passenger train crash or derailment in the sense of human life, though there was injuries or deaths, but also bad for BNSF because that's a major rail line from Chicago to LA and it causes a major traffic backup. I'm not sure which routes they're...
Seeing this news report: Rescue efforts underway for 3 railroad employees after trains collide near Panhandle, TX
Looks like FAA closed the airspace. Is this a new thing now to keep drone flyers from getting up close footage of the derailments? it's already bad enough trying to get up close...
How could a drone be too noisy when peoples motorcycles or loud cars disrupt a whole neighborhood and peoples dogs that bark 24/7 and the owners don't do anything about it? i lived in neighborhoods with lots of those noises and it bothers the crap out of me. I would rather hear a drone then...
exactly. when recording trains if i stop recording to take a picture of the locomotives passing then i ruin my video because then i won't have video of the locomotives passing so then it would be pointless to record the train.
