    Remote ID discussion

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm a 107 operator. When it comes down to upgrading my current DJI aircraft it will not be with another DJI aircraft. As far as remote ID goes, RaceDayQuads has a lawsuit working against the FAA and remote ID. Before I start spending money on my aircraft over and...

    Remote ID discussion

Until manufacturers start equipping UAVs with remote ID technology, you can't. I have yet to see, and do not expect anything for at least a year or more, any new technology that reports remote ID information nor, to my knowledge, are there any services currently operating to receive said signal...

Phantom 4 Crash Assistance (won’t turn on)

I would recommend dropping it off at a licensed service center. While your mechanical aptitude might be high, they are experts.

Problem with Phantom 4 RTK Flight Plan

So what software are you using to create the flight plan? Did you ensure that DJI GO was shut down prior to flight? What settings do you have in the flight control software? Too vague a question to get an intelligent answer at this point.

    The cost(s) of working....Insight requested

We did a startup just after 107 went live in the mapping industry. I chose an Inspire 1 v2 for a starting aircraft @ about $3100.00 for a decent package with multiple batteries and another $1000.00 or so for ancillary equipment (multiple charger for the batteries, radios, iPad, etc.). We already...

    Bad drone law proposal.

Time to mobilize the vote again.

    Bad drone law proposal.

Is the 'good' Senator proposing this for State or Federal legislation? If it is for the state, then he has no jurisdiction and the law could be challenged (and defeated pretty easily) in Federal district court.

FAA Part 107 sUAS Recurrent Test ~

The paperwork that you receive after taking a recurrency test is required along with the hard copy card the FAA originally sent you to prove currency. You don't need to send anything in. After taking the initial test you do need to register with IACRA but that is a one-time thing.

    Drug conviction on 107

Still not legal to operate even if the edibles are legal in your area. We are talking Federal regulations that trump state law.

    Drug conviction on 107

You are good to go as long as you have surpassed the one year date or better of the date of conviction (so 14 years ago is fine) AND you have surpassed the one year date of the act itself (there again, 14 years is good to go.

ex- US Pres. family members now live where I normally fly

You can get accurate information from either of the links provided below: FAA TFRs FAA UAS Data A "No-Fly" zone would make both lists. The TFR link will list them a few days before they go into effect usually. Hope this helps.

Badly Named Walk with Handheld RTK survey file from DRTK2 on P4RTK controller

I write to a USB and then access the USB.

Badly Named Walk with Handheld RTK survey file from DRTK2 on P4RTK controller

Plug it in a PC and edit the filename. If the PC won't read it, then I think you are just SOL. Reformat and educate you team members to refrain from using special characters in a filename. Use a YYMMDD format instead (210107)

Flying over Bald Eagle Breeding Areas

While you may be technically right, do you really want to piss the Feds off? They could easily bury you in paperwork at a minimum if not find something to prosecute you for if they really put their mind to it. That request of maintaining a minimum altitude of 2000 ft AGL is well outside your...

    Is autonomous flight legal?

I have no idea what the regulations for UAS flight in Australia are. In light of that statement, autonomous flight in the US is completely allowed as long as you maintain line of sight to the aircraft, fly below 400 feet AGL, do not fly over people or moving vehicles and a few other limiters...
