Isn’t this 107 stuff complete overkill?

I took an FAA approved ground school nearly 30 years ago. I thought it was good material and passed with a 96%, we had a young man who was on his 3rd time through the course and still didn't pass. At some point I thought "Perhaps the testing is weeding out those who should'nt be allowed to fly"...

Does anyone have an Android Samsung smartphone with which DJI GO works?

Sorry I haven't been active lately and just saw your post. I was using the latest version of Android and DJI Go on the J7. I have recently upgraded to a Samsung Tab E 9.6" Tablet running newest versions of Android and Go also. If you are still having issues I might suggest keeping your Cache...

The PD checked my FAA numbers on my Drone !

I believe he was "asked" to land the drone and complied. The real question is what if he hadn't complied. It would be pretty easy to say he was flying in a reckless and dangerous manner.

    FAA Expands No-Fly Zones

The new restrictions limit drones to 400 ft horizontally. Hardly enough time to ward off an attack should one be on a mission.

    Almost Had A Bad Incident

We were in the middle of a geomagnetic storm that day, strongest we've had in like 10 years. Wonder if it had something to do with it.

p3pro error of 30m and 50m on screen.

You could just log out and log back in to remove the limitations. If that doesn't work then uninstalling and reinstalling should fix it. There are other threads explained how to downgrade your app, not sure if it's possible on ios

    Your thoughts on Landing Pads?

As soon as I sent that I thought about the probability of a standardized format for the ColorChecker chart. I haven't yet read the text of the link you added because I'm busy at work but will as soon as I arrive at home. I could do an 18% gray on one side and the ColorChecker chart on the...

    Your thoughts on Landing Pads?

Now that's an idea I didn't consider, a great one at that! We run calibration tests that look very similar every shift and toss them in the trash! Along those same lines, what do you think about an 18% gray card? It could be used for setting exposure and White Balance. Or perhaps an 18%...

    Your thoughts on Landing Pads?

I am thinking of having some landing pads made and would like others input. My plan being to make the best possible design which I may offer to others down the road. I work at a printing company that can print on virtually any substrate, from hard, stiff materials like metal and acrylic to soft...

Car accident, police activity... no helicopter... Can I? Is there a law..

I don't think it would be a problem if you maintained an acceptably low altitude and kept a safe distance. With that said, considering the wide angle lens, I just don't know how much detail you might capture from a safe distance.

Car accident, police activity... no helicopter... Can I? Is there a law..

I know a drone enthusiast who also happens to be a firefighter. On his off time he monitors emergency channels and flies over and videos structural fires. He does it from a safe distance and never has problems. I know this doesn't answer the question but adds to the conversation.

    Battery usage ??

Excuse my ignorance, what is 14ms? Meters per second? I've only seen ms as an abbreviation for millisecond.

    Battery usage ??

Generally speaking faster speeds are less efficient due to increased air resistance. This is why most Hybrid vehicles get better MPG in town than highway. On the otherhand the Phantom IS using much of it's battery just to stay aloft, so it may have an advantage going faster. This doesn't answer...
