    contractors?

My earnings go into an account we have setup under an umbrella LLC for a couple other business. We pay quarterly tax estimates based on previous FY + current estimates. We have a firm on standby for other businesses and I have run a few things by them, I spoke with my insurance agent more than...

    4 Pro or 4 Pro+?

Yep, there's absolutely zero reason (that I can see) to go with the P4P+

    Surveying and mapping

I think so, but like you said it's a very gray area. No doubt we already know how far behind the law is in comparison to this technology. This is one reason why I'm having lawyers draw us up a (hopefully) ironclad hold harmless/release of liability. As long as we set the expectation from the...

    Surveying and mapping

Great insight, however I can't understand how "photogrammetry" would be a dirty word. I mean that is just a fancy term for extracting data from photos and stitching the two right? How does that relate to regulated surveying? Not challenging you per se obviously, just trying to whittle this...

    Volumetrics pix4d vs drone deploy

Hey guys, flew a mission two days ago (in DroneDeploy) about 9 acre area, 500 images or so, 80% overlap, 90deg camera angle) and am seeing a ~7% variance in a volumetric measurement between the two platforms (using same data set). Screen shots below...given that both these programs have the...

Phantom 4 Pro+ Option For Mapping

Out of curiosity, what accuracy are you guys getting with the P4P? I understand GPS is similar to other models but I would thing the 20mp camera/mechanical shutter helps? I'm looking into GCPs and not ready to make the leap to the AeroPoints or anything like that...thinking the Bad Elf GNSS...

I'm having such a hard time pulling the trigger..

My vote, spend the money on the best key hardware up front. Same goes true for anything like this IMO. A mavic with 12 batteries still won't take the pics a P4P is capable of. I had one battery for a while, charges in 60 min or so...waiting wasn't terrible. A bday later, now I have a few.
