The P3P has a USB video downlink as opposed to a typical Wi-Fi downlink. This provides a better live video feed (depending on your distance and interference from the controller to the drone.

If the memory card you inserted was external, either something got lodged in the card reader, the card popped out, or the battery came loose. It's unlikely that a crash alone can corrupt data, unless there was severe damage to the card.

I'm not sure, but contact DJI. Who knows? They may give you a special build of the DJI GO app for your special circumstance. I would suggest you take the Part 107 test (Something I do not have, due to being 14) and show DJI your credentials. They may make an exception.

Oooof, do you have a DJI Care plan? I recommend learning to fly with a cheap minidrone first, then move onto the Phantom. It's a heafty piece of hardware, and would be a shame if it was damaged beyond repair.

This is just an assumption, but if the quad is in Attitude mode and happens to lose RC signal, it would likely RTH after switching back to P-GPS. If no GPS signal is found, the aircraft will hover.

Depending on your RTH Parameters, your drone may ascend straight up to your RTH altitude before landing. This may still happen even within 20 meters of the Home Point.
