Following this thread with great interest. As Ozfafapiti, I too decided to resurrect my old P2, and of course both batteries were toast! So I've done the lipo mod and now have a pair of 2600mAh 3S batteries wired in parallel slung underneath the P2 and wired to the original smart battery...

My Phantom 2 H3-3D with mini-iOSD in Naza mode has developed a worrying habit, which yesterday resulted in a crash. Since Sunday, on three separate occasions, at three separate locations the Phantom has started up and flown fine. Full GPS lock (10 sats) , flashing green legs, normal operation...

Thanks Mako79. I did try a 3D cable and it worked a treat, and yes, I haven't dared cutting the yaw cable!

With this in mind, wouldn't the H3-3D ribbon work on the 2D just with the extra branch cut off? They're the same shape apart from the extra arm going to the third motor??

I noted someone mentioning that the aftermarket ones were very flexible..... Well, I consider the standard DJI ones to be flexible compared to carbon aftermarket ones, so why isn't everyone using them instead? Is it a case of the DJI's flight control system has been tuned to standard blades, so...

Indeed. But has anyone tried using the ribbon cable from a H3-3D on the 2D? The shape is the same except for an extra arm that goes to the third motor. I'm hoping that I can cut the extra arm off. If that doesn't work I'll use a piece of the 3D and some 3M 9703 tape to splice a repair.......
