I did send mine in for warranty service and the repaired one worked fine for a few flights, then it happened again. I suspect that the warranty department couldn't replicate the issue so they performed a hard reset and sent it back to me. Its only happened once since I got the "repaired" unit...

I just got back from Kauai last week and got some decent shots of Waimea Falls. I wanted to fly into the canyons as well but it was windy that day.

The local laws pretty much state the same thing, I have to be harassing the wildlife and influencing their behavior for it to be illegal. At the altitude I was at, I couldn't even hear the drone myself.
