Hi all, I'm in Kingwood, always looking for new places to fly and others to fly with. Went to Galveston recently: and Oklahoma as a Phantom newbie:

Since a failed motor during flight almost guarantees a big expense does anyone replace them after a certain number of flights (or flight time)? I have a total of about 35 miles (60km) worth of air time on my P3P - that's a long way to fly with those motors and I wonder if it's prudent to replace...

Videoing a cruise ship seems to be a rite of passage from many Phantom owners. Here's mine, made 3 days ago as Carnival Liberty departed Galveston Texas late in the afternoon (note the long shadows).

Kingwood here, usually fly at various parks around Lake Houston. Would love to meet up with other flyers in the area.

I received my long-awaited Hobby King DVR yesterday and was immediately disappointed. The remote has no effect on the unit and it goes right into "Record" mode upon power-up - although nothing is actually being recorded...probably because I can't format the SD card since I can't access the menu...

Yep, that's an odd feeling. What really seems cool to me about FPV is that for the majority of the flight time, I can't hear the Phantom's motors. Then when I bring it home via the monitor and home diamond, I see the distance reading values slowly decrease...and then there it is - that buzzing...
