Sounds like your gimbal motor bud. Look for droneted here. He is very good with these issues.

I agree . I do the same with mine. The phantom 3 loves to fly and when it doesn't get to fly regularly it let's you know the hard way.

Your control sticks need calibrating i think.

Are 4 propellers turning. Are propellers on the correct motors. 2 different pairs of propellers and it probably does need a firmware update. I would first check that the correct propellers on on the correct motors.

Actually I would be more nervous if it shut down in flight.

I always remove my battery from the drone when packed. I just don't trust technology.

The controller needs to be linked to the drone . Just relink it and it will be fine. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube on how to do this bud.

Sorry I read your post incorrectly. You are correct in saying the phantom 4 uses 4k but I would still change settings in manual to see if it helps.
