P4P+: DLing video via USB from onboard controller memory?

Thank you so much! Going to go do this right now.

P4P+: DLing video via USB from onboard controller memory?

Sorry if this has been asked, but I wasn't able to find it while searching the keywords I could think of. I went flying yesterday. I knew my SD card was full, but I figured I'd format it from the quad at the beginning of the first battery. I did that, but apparently it didn't work, so I didn't...

So I got ticketed by Federal Police Officers...(video included)

So much "no". Pilots need to research where they want to fly. If you just find out what kind of land it is and who administers it, and then google that classification with the word "drone", you'll probably have your answer. If not, make a call, or better yet email someone so you have a record...

Ripping around a frozen river in the Alberta wilderness

Can confirm it was not warm, lol. Around -10C on this video. I used to have a -5C operational floor, but since I started using hand warmers, I'll fly anytime the battery is 15C and above. At 15C, I'd hover it at least until the battery hit 20C. Those handwarmers are great though. If I'm smart...

Ripping around a frozen river in the Alberta wilderness

Just a little late for perfect light, but I still managed to make it look decent by underexposing and fixing things in Premiere. The shot features some terrible yaw control. I probably should have calibrated my compass.

I don't think this should be annoying you too much. Sure it would have corrected your behavior, but it wouldn't have emphasized to everybody who hears about your experience just how important it is to research every location they want to shoot. It would also contribute to the sense that one can...

Can you replace the P4P+ controller with a P4P controller?

You can do autopilot controlled maneuvers for tighter cinematic shots, which is the application I'm interested in. It also allows you to do flights beyond your control range, and more easily set up mapping and volumetric analysis missions.

Can you replace the P4P+ controller with a P4P controller?

Awesome, thanks guys. Good to know I haven't completely closed the door on using Litchi with my purchase.

Can you replace the P4P+ controller with a P4P controller?

I may eventually want to run Litchi for my P4P+, but unfortunately that's not currently possible, with no stated plans to change this state of affairs. Is it possible to buy a P4P controller and bind it to my Phantom?

Has anyone else filmed wild elk?

Harassing wildlife is always a **** move, regardless of where you are. Also I'm pretty sure that since your Tennessee population is a reintroduction, fish and wildlife is probably reasonably interested enough in their success that harassing them carries a legal risk.

    Flies good in heavy snow!

It's a fairly manageable risk. My temperature floor for flying is -5 C. I keep my batteries on the inner pockets of a heavy down Carhartt parka that keeps me toasty personally until -45C, so they'll be nice and warm when I pop them in. They tend to cool down a bit during my preflight checks on...

How did you get your first gig?

Thanks for the reply. I was assuming that most aerial videographers were running Osmos or similar inside as well and offering a full package. The real estate market in my area has a lot of $4M+ ranches with nice houses on them. A lot of people keeping horses and such. It's just outside the...

How did you get your first gig?

Wow Aerial Cinemagic and dpwarren, thank you guys so much for that advice! Dpwarren, you mentioned a $150 shoot. That's all you charge? Is that exterior video only? How long would the deliverable be, and how much time do you spend in post that you can price so low?

I like the kind of probing, wandering camera movements. You might want to be careful flying in snow and fog though. I've read that both can cause moisture in your ESC's or flight controller, both of which can cause a crash or even bricking your Phantom.

    First real video attempt...

I'd use Aphex Twin's Stone in Focus for something like that. Somber, understated, but full of emotion.
