So I was originally thinking about getting the Phantom 4 but the price tag is pretty high at $1400 and with the Phantom 3 profession dropping price at $800, it is looking more appealing. This is my first expensive drone, I have had cheap small quad which i guess don't really count as flying...

Yeah since the battery comes out of the p4 than I think it's fine.

I'm really glad you said that because honestly at first I was going to fly with just the Styrofoam, looks like I will need to get a case before I fly anywhere.

Seems like you got pretty lucky with nothing happening to it, but out of curiosity why did you keep it in the box rather than just the Styrofoam case ?
