Just received in my email from faa.gov. I invite discussion:
UAS Risk Reduction
Notice Number: NOTC7257
At the recent meeting of the Unmanned Aircraft Safety Team (UAST), the team created three risk reduction working groups.
UAS Loss of Control (LOC) is a very real safety concern. Due to...
Oklahoma can make all the laws it wants. They are nullified by Federal per-emption. Until the FAA says "Okay states, you get to regulate the airspace from the ground to 200 feet AGL" these kinds of laws are merely wishful thinking on the part of the state or any municipality.
I've been out of the loop for three months since that's how long it's taken DJI to cough up a replacement drone after my original one failed. For details on that, see here:
Absolutely Fed-Up With DJI Support and Quality Control
When I got the replacement I upgraded the firmware. Now I am...
Hey Ken,
Thanks for stepping in. I've been working with Ed via Facebook and as of about an hour ago on day 88 I believe we have it all mostly resolved. I'll collect up my multiple case numbers if you like and email them to you along with emails I exchanged over the last couple of months with...
They were giving me the same run-arounds which is why, after almost three months, I went the social media route. I posted here, on reddit, twitter, and on FaceBook. Facebook got their attention.

Does anyone know if the RC volume is adjustable? I just received a replacement RC from DJI and when I turn it on it is completely silent. No start-up sound. Not that a care so much about a start-up sound but if it needs to alert me to somethin in flight I want to know ... plus I won't fly...
Update: Day 86. I received the replacement remote control. So now, supposedly, I have a new remote and a new drone. I'll test over the weekend and report back.
Moving at the speed of DJI. Want to see the speed at which DJI support moves? After three months being polite, waiting in queues, getting refurb after refurb while being told they were new, I decide to hang the laundry in public and leverage social media. You would think with the eyes of many...
Today is the 84th day since the initial incident brought the drone to the ground, and it's still not resolved. Now DJI is dicking around trying to figure out how to send out a replacement RC to the "new" one they sent last week ... which doesn't work. See it unfold in real-time right here...
