EDITED my original post to add that I just purchased a new Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB Micro SD Card, formatted it in the drone and it is still acting the same. From what I can tell, that is the most recommended SD card for the P4P line, so I think I can certainly rule out bad SD cards.

Yes, all 3 cards that I tried were formatted in the drone.

It was stored in the original case that it came with when purchased new, in my home. I wouldn't think that humidity or dust would be a factor. I hear you on the firmware update. I would have tested without updating, but it wouldn't let me fly without it. Maybe there was some trick or work...
