There was no flying fast in this scenario. The P4 was not in sport mode but did have extra payload (2 CUBE lights) attached. The full stick would not have really created greater forces than what these drones are spec'd for but I agree that care is warranted nonetheless.
I'm pretty sure what happened on this short flight is power related but wanted to see if there was a consensus given some observed things.
So the flight lasted about 16 seconds. Battery was at 98% and it was about 116' high. Observers said they saw it just fall like a rock. No sound when it...
Using the same account for 2 different drones and on one of them it's showing all flights as blank. I'm a bit perplexed since it should not have anything to do with the account. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you resolve it?
FYI: The account is being used on a DJI GO app...
Hmm.. Ok, so this seems to apply for "official" Public Safety Departments which are government/state entities. I am part of a SAR organization mainly consisting of trained volunteers. We are FEMA and SARTECH certified and our SAR drone program is run by an airline pilot who also has the part...
Hi BigA107. Have you been able to get an exemption for flying at night for SAR purposes from the FAA? It's my understanding that the FAA wants an exemption process for each instance where flying at night is needed, which of course is very difficult when you are doing SAR because of the time...
Hi all
I recently joined a first responder group that has a decent outfit of drones they use for search and rescue. Until now it was all done by one or 2 guys and they are trying to expand. I've been asked to help build out their drone training program to on-board more people who are...
Probably best to contact DJI support. This thread is pretty old and not sure the file to revert back will still work. You should be able to open a chat with support and get their input.
Ha Ha! I was just thinking yesterday that Mavic didn't really fit here in the "Phantom" pilots forum. :)
Will this be a new registration or will current members be ported over??
Winds are not the same as a leaf blower, true. The test is simply an indicator. Benchmark testing the P4 with the same wind from a blower as the test with the Mavic. The volume of air from the leaf blower will decrease drastically the further away from the nozzle you are. So the manufacturer...
DJI website says that the Mavic can fly a stable 24mph in winds up to 38mph. It states that it rivals the P4 because of it's powerful motors and form factor designed to be better aerodynamically. Personally, I would call this a huge success on the Mavic side. :-)
