1.3 miles is my best need open ground no thickets of trees or anything to go further but it is supposed to be line of sight though, maybe when high up in hills might be better distance...

Process of elimination I think it's the lead. Take back and swap it. My lead would charge but transferring information a bit iffy. Can't think of anything else...

Have you tried the picture with just your phone and your lead. Try calibrating the gimbal.

Strange but I did buy a new lead and it didn't work properly have you tried the lead on something else try on your phone first with the old lead if that works you know there's something wrong with the lead.

Are the r/c and p3 linked if not relink them

Very true I wish I'd seen this post what I did before it cost me a controller but we learn my mistakes

when updating firmware on controller don't use one of the methods on YouTube that tells you to connect your aircraft to the controller that is the wrong way do it straight from the DJI go app and be patient it takes about 10 minutes my controller doesn't work anymore had to buying second-hand...
